Eco-Friendly Foam

corevalue

LDC prides itself on doing our bit for the environment by offering eco-friendly options.  As you may know, our seals and shelters are inherently environmentally friendly.  In addition, it might interest you to know that LDC uses special foam called “Bioplush” in a lot of the products made here.  This foam is made with a proportion of renewable materials such as a plant base and seed oils, instead of 100% polyurethane and other added chemicals.

Eco-Friendly Shelters

Eco_Friendly_Image

Traditional manufacturing methods for LDC’s dock seals utilize a wood support. However, we offer an eco-friendly option which uses a steel support instead. This choice helps reduce the amount of trees we are cutting down while the finished product looks exactly the same as the other. In fact, it actually performs better than wood in that you don’t have to worry about future problems like rotting, warping, shrinking, cracking and splitting. In addition, we are able to provide Forestry
Stewardship Council (FSC) certified lumber if a customer or end-user requests it to aid in LEED certification of their buildings.

This is just one of LDC’s eco-friendly alternatives. If you would like more information on this, or any other option to help our environment, please do not hesitate to contact our sales department. Here’s to going green!!

What’s the flap about flaps? FlapperFlaps
Vinyl flaps are rectangular pieces of vinyl sewn along the full height of side pads, and corners of head pads. They prevent premature wear and tear of the dock pad below due to the pitching and rolling motion of trucks as they are loaded and unloaded.

Going Green

LDC strives to help its dealers save money by supporting them in their quest
to seal up their loading docks against the outdoor elements – thus reducing
heating costs in winter and air conditioning costs in summer. In a similar way
our staff helps the environment by choosing to carpool when they can to keep
extra cars off of the road. This helps lower the emissions that pollute our
air.
