Happy birthday to our dearest Rose who turned 65 the other day!
LDC wishes our very young at heart, Rose a very happy birthday with hopes of many more to come! When not sewing one of our dock seals for our customers Rose loves to sit back and enjoy some Pina Colada birthday cake.
Unbeknownst to us, our friends at Doverco had a holiday auction before the holidays utilizing the year end gift we sent to them! We are extremely happy to say that, combined with their other vendor gifting, Doverco staff raised almost $3000 which they chose to contribute to the Just For Kids Foundation! The money they raised will be used to help buy specialized equipment for the Montreal Childrens Hospital.
The effort and thought that Doverco put into this extraordinary deed is quite commendable, and we here at LDC are very excited to learn that we were part of it!
The Holidays are finally here! LDC would like to take this time to wish you all well during the holiday season and a Happy New Year!!
Stay safe, and drive smart.
The first of April, some do say
Is set apart for All Fool’s Day;
But why the people call it so
Nor I, nor they themselves, do know,
But on this day are people sent
On purpose for pure merriment.
Here is a Happy April Fools from LDC to you,
May this month bring you hope and wisdom too.
Dock safety is NO JOKE… but those of us who help make it safe… like to HAVE FUN!!
Loading Dock Company sends its congratulations to Cindy Tang, a grade 12 high school student from Scarborough Ontario for winning the inaugural edition of the Google 4 Doodle Canada contest!
If being viewed by billions of people in one day is not great enough she also won a $10,000 scholarship, a laptop and a $10,000 grant for her school. Her drawing is also part of a special exhibit at the ROM.
Her inspiration for designing the Sea Telescope was:
“I would invent a telescope that would show us the depth of the sea (all of it). I’ve heard we’ve discovered less than five per cent of the ocean [with] 95 per cent still left unseen by human eyes.”

Now is the time of year when families gather together in celebration, and look forward to all that will come in the New Year. It’s the time for reflection and introspection, a time for giving thanks for all we have, and a time for giving to the many among us that do not have the privilege of enjoying all that Christmas has to offer. That’s why LDC will be organizing a gift collection drive to the CHUM Christmas Wish Foundation.
This year marks the 47th Annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish Foundation, which is one of the largest distributors of toys to children in need throughout the GTA. The program also provides financial assistance to hundreds of agencies, ensuring that hundreds of thousands of children across the GTA enjoy a Christmas Experience. On Monday, July 8th, The CP24 Chum Christmas Wish Foundation suffered significant Flood Damage, and teams are currently sorting and repacking any salvageable items. For those who are interested in lending support through financial donations, please visit:
If you would like to donate a gift to the charity, you may drop any of the following off at LDC’s front office and we’ll make sure it gets to the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish Foundation:
